Evangelist Harris is a native of Calhoun, Georgia, a devoted wife, mother, and dedicated and obedient Woman of God who truly loves The Lord. For 17 years, she and her husband, Pastor John W. Harris, have made their home in Cartersville, Georgia, and have been married for 31 years. They have five children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is retired from Georgia Bank & Trust, a Division of the Synovus Corporation, where she worked for 28 years. In April of 2000, she answered her call into the ministry. Evangelist Harris serves as the Director of the Thankful Baptist Church Kennesaw Women's Ministry, TP.OW.E.R. She is an accomplished poet with published writings in America at Millennium; America's Greatest Poets of the Twentieth Century. She is also a published writer of a poem entitled "History," featured in the Inaugural Edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, honoring our 44th President of the United States, President Barack Obama, in addition to being an accomplished poet, 1st Lady Evangelist Harris, with her husband, made history in Kennesaw by championing The Inaugural Celebration of The City of Kennesaw's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Celebration. For 11th years, she has been cochairing the celebration that has awarded over $37,500.00 to eligible High School Seniors matriculating into college through the generous support of community partners. While Evangelist Harris has accomplished much, she is proud of how God continues to allow her to serve in the local Kennesaw Missionary Baptist Association Women's Auxiliary and the District level of the Georgia Missionary Baptist Convention
